I began my academic career by earning a bachelor's in geology at Eastern Michigan University. There I was a member of the Honors College and did an undergraduate senior thesis examining building materials on campus for asbestiform minerals.
I then went on to get my M.S. at Bowling Green State University. My thesis included studying the influence of historical land use changes on floodplain stratigraphy.
Recently, I have been working on my PhD at Miami University in geomicrobiology. However, I have realized that my heart is in environmental geology. I am passionate about protecting and promoting human health and the environment and I hope you are too!
